London Bridge Sheep Drive 2025: Register Your Interest
Calling All Guild Members! Register your interest to be part of a historic London tradition!
Did you know that once a year, hundreds of sheep are driven across London Bridge into the City? It is a unique event that celebrates the rich heritage of our city, and we want you to join us to take part in 2025!
Dating back to mediaeval times, shepherds would bring their sheep into the City of London to sell them at market. Freemen of the City were excused from the bridge toll that applied to other people crossing the bridge in recognition of their status as local traders. In 2013 the Worshipful Company of Woolmen resurrected this ancient right for charitable purposes, and the event was so successful that it has continued ever since.ThIn 2025, the Master and Wardens invite you to join them in taking part on Sunday 28th September 2025. All Freemen may participate and bring a guest, however if you’re not yet a Freeman then please contact us. Family and friends are most welcome to come along and witness you enacting this famous Freeman’s right!
If you are interested in taking part, PLEASE REGISTER YOUR INTEREST! Booking opens around May and always sell out fast, so we need to know roughly how many places to book in advance. Once registered, we will contact you after we secure our slot with details on how to book your place(s) (tickets will be £65 per person, and proceeds go towards the Woolman’s charity and the Lord Mayor’s Appeal). The event is open to all members who are Freemen of the City PLUS ONE guest, but if you’re not yet a Freeman and interested in joining in please get in touch. We are also hoping to arrange a lunch for all participants before or afterwards.
Please note that timings are approximate, and will be confirmed closer to the date.
