Guild Tour of the Houses of Parliament
The Guild is delighted to offer members a rare opportunity to step inside one of the world’s most iconic buildings: the Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster). We have secured a small group tour, providing an intimate look at the heart of British democracy.
Date (Provisional): Thursday, 13th February 2026 Time: TBC (Afternoon) Duration: Approximately 75–90 minutes (Tour) Location: Palace of Westminster, Westminster, London SW1A 0AA
What to Expect
Our guided tour will take us behind the scenes of this UNESCO World Heritage site, following the ceremonial route through the Palace. The tour typically lasts between 75 and 90 minutes and features:
-
Westminster Hall: The oldest part of the Palace, dating back almost a thousand years, which has borne witness to some of the most significant moments in British history.
-
The House of Commons Chamber: See the famous green benches and the pivotal arena where current political debate takes place.
-
The House of Lords Chamber: Admire the highly ornate and gilded room, home to the Sovereign’s Throne and the key venue for State Opening of Parliament.
-
Central Lobby & St Stephen’s Hall: Explore the ceremonial and historic corridors that connect the two Houses and are lined with statues of famous parliamentarians.
This is a fantastic chance to appreciate the stunning architecture, art, and history of the building, while gaining a deeper understanding of the workings of the UK Parliament.

Following the conclusion of the tour, we plan to retire to a nearby Westminster pub. This will be an excellent opportunity for a chat and a drink with the group members.
